The Plant City Housing Authority (PCHA)is located 68 miles West of Orlando and 26 miles East of Tampa. The Authority is funded primarily with Federal Funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
The Authority has 200 units under management, and 187 voucher assisted units throughout Hillsborough County
PCHA is a non-profit organization established by Plant City in 1957, and empowered with the responsibility and authority to maintain the Public Housing Program, for the City of Plant City, Florida. The Section 8 Program was created by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and amended by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1981 and the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The Authority was established in accordance with Florida Statutes to develop, manage, and maintain low income housing and housing assistance programs for low income families.
The Low Rent Housing Program consists of Public Housing, which are units that are owned and managed by the Housing Authority.
